There are a few tricks in this game that helps, it's not much but well like i said this is a small page.  Hopefully i'll get more in the future.
So here they are:
Lucky 7 fever:
If you manage to get a character's life, any will work, to 7777 by Exp. points and moving Materia around, the character with 7777 will go berserk and hit the enemy and take off 7777 points until that battle is over.  But once that person loses hp or gain's a level, he or she loses the beserk mode. It's pretty tricky, but i once managed to do it with Vincent against the last jenova but i lost it when i changed teams.  when you get it , you see the characters name will be in different colors.

To duplicate an item:
For this one trick, the only thing you need is the W-Item Materia. During a battle any will do, normal or boss, get a character with W-item materia to pick an item and pick it. You highlight the one you want to duplicate. Then pick an other item. When the arrow is pointing to a person, (doesn't have to be the same person). When that's done, press cancel and the first item will increase to its original number.  Then when you press accept, and then cancel repeatedly you could get 99 of that item.  It's a easy trick but takes a while.

To get materia Exp. levels up faster and master them:
Well in the game there are certain weapons that increase materia levels faster than others.  Like for example, Cloud has one that triple the level.  So the amount you get in battle is multiplied by three.
The trick is finding which the best of each person.
Doing this, you master the materia levels faster and then you can equip the new materia to another person faster.  I did this for my powerful materia.
